Our Founder
Kareem El Sawy
Kareem El Sawy is the Founder and Managing Partner of Memento Growth Partners. He is the Chair of the Investment Committee and responsible for setting the strategic direction of the firm.
Prior to founding Memento, Kareem was a partner and member of the IC of Arrowroot Capital, a global growth equity firm in Los Angeles and Miami focused on enterprise software. Arrowroot became an early pioneer in structured equity investments for emerging enterprise software companies.
Kareem was involved in various capacities in many of Arrowroot’s realizations, including FirstUp (acquired by Sumeru Equity Partners), Agilence (acquired by Cuadrilla Capital), JustPark (acquired by LLR/FTV), KeyedIn (acquired by STG-backed SciForma, later acquired by TPG and TA-backed Planview), 4tell Solutions (acquired by Rubicon Tech Partners), Embotics (acquired by Snow Software), Unifyr (acquired by Investcorp), Evergage (acquired by Salesforce), ICIX (acquired by Thoma Bravo and TA-backed Riskonnect), and Sourcepoint (acquired by Marlin-backed Didomi).
Prior to Arrowroot, Kareem was at OpenGate Capital in Los Angeles, a global private equity firm with ~$2B+ AUM, where he was on the M&A team for North America and Latin America. He began his investing career in TMT merchant banking (nka Drake Star Partners).
Kareem was previously named to GrowthCap’s Top 40 Under 40 Growth Investors.
